Documenting jobs

In order to give prospective clients a better idea of how much jobs may cost, we document our historical works on our website. This means we will often take photographs before the job starts during it and at the end to post on our website with a description that appears on the invoice for that job. If you would not like your job to appear on our website please inform the electrician on then day.

Estimates:

(We have decided to detail our previous work on our website. This is to help future clients estimate how much the job may cost.)

This is a non-binding ball-part figure on the anticipated labour costs and materials in accordance with the information available to the electrician at the initial review of the job. Such review may be done via email and photographs, skype, or for more complex work in person on site

The estimate may vary as compared with the final cost which may be higher or lower. In case the final costs are likely to increase considerably, you will be consulted in advance to obtain permission to continue with the works.

For estimates on new installations (sockets, lights, switches) the electrician will require the following information:

  • What is the distance from an existing power source to the new location?
  • Are the cables for the new installation to be surface mounted or chased in?
  • If chasing is required, what is the material of the wall/ceiling/floor that will need to be chased; e.g. brick, plaster board, concrete?
  • Additional details you feel may be of relevance e.g. high ceilings, obstructions/awkward access.

Estimates for complete rewiring and new distributions board installations will be carried in person on site.

It is not possible to offer an estimates for fault-finding due to the nature of the task. From fault-finding work done to date, majority of issues are resolved within the minimum 2h charge.
